By unveiling a commemorative plaque, the association “Wiechert’sche Erdbebenwarte Göttingen e.V.” honoured the longstanding Director of the Institute of Geophysics, Prof. Manfred Siebert, who passed away in 2013. “Professor Siebert was an excellent scientist and lecturer, but, most notably, also a great personality”, emphasised Deputy Chairman Dr. Udo Wedeken, who spent many years working with the geophysicist born in 1925 in Ribbeck (Brandenburg).
