Seaquake Alaska – January 2018

Off the coast of Alaska – 7900 km away from Göttingen – on January 23, 2018 at 10:32 CET, a magnitude 7,9 seaquake occurred. After about 11 minutes, the first earthquake waves reached Göttingen and were registered there by the STS-2 seismograph (station GTTG) (see picture – please click to enlarge).
