Earthquake in Greece – July 2017

We have evaluated more extensively the earthquake that occurred overnight from 20 to 21 July between Bodrum (Turkey) and Kos (Greece).

About 4.5 minutes after the earthquake (20/07/2017, 10:31:12 p.m. UTC), the P wave reached Göttingen, located 2,130 km away. The S wave arrived about 3.5 minutes later. The earthquake had a magnitude of Mw = 6.6 and occurred at a depth of about 11 km.
