<\/a>Earthquake in Italy \u2013 August to October 2016<\/h1>\n[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”2\/3″][vc_column_text]Between August and October 2016, Central Italy was struck by a whole series of exceptionally strong earthquakes. The first one was the earthquake of 24 August. The shocks with a magnitude of 6.2 destroyed several mountain villages in the Apennines. Many houses in Norcia, Accumoli and other municipalities became uninhabitable; nearly 300 people lost their lives. On 26 and 27 October, two other violent earthquakes followed \u2013 this time east of the Apennines. The earthquake of 30 October again hit the region around Norcia and, with a magnitude of 6.6, was the strongest of this series. (Source: das-erdbeben.de)<\/p>\n
