Mexico quake – September 2017<\/span><\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Diagram of the comparison of the two major Mexican quakes – measured with the broadband seismograph STS-2 of the BGR at our earthquake station. The S-wave reached G\u00f6ttingen in both cases 10.5 min after the P-wave. From this transit time difference of the two spacewaves one calculates a distance of about 9600 km. The second quake at 7.1 was one level weaker than the first quake, which reached 8.1.
